Can’t get out of bed
Thoughts swirl around my head
Of the possibilities
Of the chores
Of the responsibilities
All demanding but I can’t get out of bed
My body a heavy rock
My bed the calming water
One moment feels like hours
Hours like an eternity
My eyes lazily close
The era of productiveness gone
Strangled by the paralyzing thoughts
Wishing of peace
Wishing of quiet
Wishing I could just get up
But I can’t get out of bed
